Environment & Texturing

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

Environment Building

Jess made a previs test of the environment with props found online, based on the floorplan Paloma sketched.

Nickoel then spent a couple days on set dressing with free props found on websites like Turbosquid and free3D. This included prop placements, modelling placeholders for some things that couldn't be found, and scaling everything to match the size of the characters.

After that, Jess and Konrad cleaned everything up. They split up tasks to firstly fix any broken geometry, and then UV and texture the main objects.

Then, as the team moved on to animating, Paloma adjusted or added the last couple of textures like the desk, the floor, surfboards, and the picture frames.

Rigged props

Nickoel did some basic ones for the props that the characters interact with (really basic rig systems)

Paloma did the post-it note rig. A really detailed rig with loads of different control options to pose the post-it notes in every way we need.
